southernhiphop
The definitive hub for the sounds of the South. From the trunk-rattling bass of Atlanta and the dark aesthetics of Memphis to the chopped and screwed vibes of Houston, this community is dedicated to the pioneers and the new wave of Southern rap.
Whether you are here for the 808s or the production techniques, pull up and share your favorite tracks.
Rules
-
Maintain the Vibe\
Be respectful. Debate is fine, but toxicity, hate speech, and elitism are not tolerated. -
Credit the Architects\
When posting newer tracks, try to credit the producer in the comments if they are known. The beat is half the soul of the South. -
Proper Titling\
Follow the format: [Artist] - [Track Name].
Example: Three 6 Mafia - Stay Fly -
No Self-Promotion Spam\
Original music is welcome, but do not flood the feed. Limit self-promo to one post per week and engage with others.

Unlock Thread
Brought over from lemm.ee since it's shutting down. Basically used to keep discussions going in another thread for any threads that get shut down by people that still want to discuss that topic as long as it doesn't break lemmy.dbzer0 rules. (Typically when comments get locked for being offtopic in a community)

Be kind and supportive, including to yourself. No harassment or name calling, bigotry, or self-deprecation. Constructive criticism is strongly encouraged, but it is not allowed on some types of posts. Post titles, descriptions, and comments must also not be self-deprecating, self-disparaging, or otherwise unkind in tone. Content implying requests for sympathy may also be removed.

All makeup looks and collections must include a detailed product list in a top-level comment which includes every product used in the visible area, including even invisible products like primer and setting sprays. Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
