Death Metal
All things Death Metal.
You know what to do: spread gory rhapsodies, uncover hidden talents, share thoughts about the evolution of the genre.
Rules
- To keep things organized and easy to navigate, please use the following format when posting music.
Band - Song Title [Location, Year] [FFO: Band 1, Band 2, Band 3]
Example: Bolt Thrower - World Eater [England, 1989] [FFO: Benediction, Hail of Bullets, Memoriam]
FFO means “For Fans Of” and is not always needed, but can be very helpful in promoting lesser known bands.
-
Do not post songs from bands that are already on the front page of new threads.
-
No self-promotion.
-
Please keep posts related to death metal. Other subgenres (death/doom, melodic death, progressive death, brutal death, black/death) of death metal are welcome as long as the band is primarily death metal. If looking for general metal, please visit the Metal Community.

Anthropic's Claude AI
Anthropic's Claude AI is a next-generation AI assistant that can power a wide variety of conversational and text processing tasks. It's been rigorously tested with key partners like Notion, Quora, and DuckDuckGo and is now ready for wider use.
Claude can help with tasks including summarization, search, creative and collaborative writing, Q&A, coding, and more. Early adopters report that Claude is less likely to produce harmful outputs, easier to converse with, and more steerable. Claude can also be directed on personality, tone, and behavior.
There are two versions of Claude: Claude and Claude Instant. Claude is a high-performance model, while Claude Instant is a faster, less expensive, but still efficient version.
Claude has been successfully integrated into various platforms:
- Quora offered Claude to users through Poe, an AI chat app, where users found Claude's answers to be detailed and easily understood.
- Notion users have been benefiting from Claude's creative writing and summarization abilities to increase their productivity.

The Kids in the Hall
JackGreenEarth: “What is this community about? There is no description in the sidebar, and I can’t tell from the posts”
DABDA: “I don’t know specifically what the purpose of the community is but its broad topic is the Canadian comedy troupe and television show The Kids in the Hall.”

E-mail providers and tools (for ad surveillance rebels/resistors) 📧
Chatter about using email in a liberated way. E-mail was working well enough before Microsoft and Google turned it into a shit-show of surveillance, restrictions, and dysfunction.
Self hosting email chatter is welcome as well as chatter about good providers.
This community is /not/ about supporting gmail or outlook users getting connected to those oppressive forces. But everyone in the relatively liberated world are welcome here, even if to deal with connecting to other people who are trapped inside those walled gardens.

Servo Browser Engine
Servo is an experimental browser engine designed to take advantage of the memory safety properties and concurrency features of the Rust programming language. It seeks to create a highly parallel environment, in which rendering, layout, HTML parsing, image decoding, and other engine components are handled by fine-grained, isolated tasks. It also makes use of GPU acceleration to render web pages quickly and smoothly.

Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
