Humanity Fuck Yeah!
HFY - Humanity Fuck Yeah! is a community for writers and artists to showcase their talent in the HFY genre and for people who enjoy them.
While traditional science fiction often presents humans as vulnerable masses seeking refuge from menacing aliens or as feeble beings overshadowed by aliens with superior logic, strength or empathy. HFY disrupts these archetypes by challenging the norm.
In the world of HFY, humanity is bestowed with exceptional qualities, giving rise to a sense of optimism and empowerment within the reader. It seeks to uplift and inspire, demonstrating the potential of human greatness and the capacity for overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds.

Everyday Socialism
Cooperation before accumulation.
- Treat people with respect, kindness and curiosity.
- Disengage if you need to.
- Please use the alt text box to describe images for our differently sighted pals.
- Anarchists are pals, too.
Post about ways co-op structures and public ownership benefit communities by sharing pictures of everyday socialism, linking articles and resources, sharing information on communally owned assets and businesses, promoting local socialist groups, discussions on groundswell socialism, or ask for advice.
Examples: Public parks, employee-owned businesses, free stores, community pantries, little free libraries, articles on socialist principles, discuss profit sharing in a cooperative, ask about setting up an anarchist business model, etc.

Now Lemmy Explain: Simple Explanation for Complex Topics
Locked for now. Will reopen if there is interest.
Inspired by r/eli5 and Casually Explained.
Now Lemmy Explain: Starting the "Now Lemmy Explain" community.
I've always felt like the name "Explain Like I'm 5" is patronizing (yes, I know, it's from an Office joke). I want to see a community that's better and more entertaining to read than how it was on reddit.
Now Lemmy Explain: The Rules:
- All post title must start with "Now Lemmy Explain: "
- All topics are allowed (within reason) but try to avoid ones that will start a flame war.
- Keep your explanation concise and entertaining. Remember though, comedy is subjective.
- Be excellent to one another, and have fun.
- If you see someone else do a great job explaining a particular topic, you are encouraged to cross-post it here, but be sure to credit the original poster for their contributions.

Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
