Curated Twitter
For preserving the least toxic and most culturally relevant Twitter heritage posts.
Image descriptions and plain text captions of written content are expected of all screenshots. Here are some image text extractors (I looked these up quick and will gladly take FOSS recommendations):
-web
-iOS
Please begin copied raw text posts (lacking a screenshot that makes it apparent it is from Twitter) with:
# This has been reposted here to Lemmy as part of the "Curated Twitter Project."
I made the icon using multiple creative commons svg resources, the banner is this.

FediToLemmy
We like to describe the Fediverse as this wonderful place where you can sign up on a microoblogging server and seemlessly interact with content from link aggreators and video platforms.
The truth is that this Fediverse is still a work in progress. This is a place where users can play around from various fedi platforms to witness some of this progress.
The intended way is to:
- try publishing various forms of top level posts
- link the posts who do not make it through to
lemmy.mlon a dedicated pinned post - try publishing various forms of comments on a dedicated pinned post
- comment the aforementioned tests to give feedback about how it comes through to you
This community does not have its own set of rules, and is rather submitted to the
lemmy.mlinstance's rules. The icon was realised from
- the fediverse logo : Eukombos, CC0, via Wikimedia Commons
- the Lemmy UI favicon

roff typesetting: groff, troff, etc.
"Groff (GNU troff) is a typesetting system that reads plain text mixed with formatting commands and produces formatted output. Output may be PostScript or PDF, html, or ASCII/UTF-8 for display at the terminal. Present on most Unix systems owing to its long association with Unix manuals (manpages), groff is capable of producing typographically sophisticated documents while consuming only minimal system resources." -- from GNU
(link: https://www.gnu.org/software/groff/)
Feel free to ask questions about the roff family and its many macros! Interested in learning more? Type
man grofforinfo groffinto your terminal to read the documentation. A good macro to start with is themsmacro!Note: you may have to install groff using your package manager for its full capabilities, as many GNU/Linux distributions only ship with the base package used in manpages.

Anarchism
A community for anarchist. Anarchism is a set of philosophies that promotes a world free of hierarchical systems.
No electioneering, no telling people to or not to vote or who to vote for. Interpretating this rule as forbidding critisism of candidates is certainty an interpretation but in the context of an ANARCHIST space it's a bad interpretation.
No bootlicking & that will include being hyper pedantic about people calling politicians, prosecutors, bureaucrats, etc, cops.
Yes, if you're an obnoxious neo-lib you're going to get banned. If you're not obnoxious & have good faith questions you can stay.

Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
