Clouds
This community is for pictures and videos of clouds, weather and all sorts of atmospheric phenomena.
Some good links for identifying stuff:
The International Cloud Atlas is a great resource on observing the sky and the weather. The definitive authority on cloud classification.
Atoptics is a more thorough resource on atmospheric optical phenomena.
Rules:

1. Keep it real. Editing images to bring out existing colours and features is allowed. More artistic edits should be marked with [edited] in the title.

Tiki
Description: Tiki culture is a celebration of tropical escapism. It's a longing for the time when Pacific islands were still exotic locales that inspired Donn Beach and Trader Vic to create their own versions back home. It all started in 1934 with the first Don the Beachcomber tiki restaurant, and was rejuvenated in the mid-90's with the printing of The Book of Tiki by Sven Kirsten. Pull up a chair, sip your Mai Tai, and study the tsantsa-covered ceiling while listening to the sounds of the Hukilau.
What is tiki: Things that are tiki: Tiki mugs. Tiki bars. Tiki cocktails. Aloha shirts. Luaus. Witco. Oceanic Arts. South Pacific culture. Trader Vic's. Don The Beachcomber. Martin Denny. Les Baxter. Mai Tais.
Things that arent tiki: Hot rods. Lowbrow Art (Rat Fink et al). Surf music. Jimmy Buffet. Margaritas. Science Fiction.
GENERAL RULES of the community: -Remember the Aloha -Trolls will be sacrificed to Pele -A basic difference of opinion is not a good reason for a downvote -Spam: the canned meat product = Good Spam: the repeated self-promotion without interaction = Bad -No political discussion

Anarchism vs. Marxism
An international (English speaking) socialist Lemmy community free of "ML" (read: Dengist) influence. This is an undogmatic, constructive and good-faith environment for Anarchists and Marxists (and communists of all stripes rly) to discuss the merits, differences, and similarities between Anarchism and Marxism.
A certain knowledge of Anarchism and/or Marxism is expected, if you are new to this/interested in learning, please visit c/Socialism101 and c/Communism101 respectively, before participating here. The 101 communities will gladly help you by answering questions, providing resources etc.
Memes go in c/Lefty Memes and c/Commie Memes respectively.
Please don't forget to help keep this community clean by reporting rule violations, upvoting good contributions and downvoting those of low-quality!
Rules
0. Don't just post memes, images, or videos. This is a place for text-based discussion
Relevant images and documentaries related to your question or prompt are welcome to be linked, however.
Also refrain from low-effort posts and intentionally provoking/baiting people.
1. Socialist Unity in the form of mutual respect and good faith discussion is enforced here.
This entails:
- Not strawmanning
- Refraining from adhominems
- Not spreading baseless assertions
- Not basing your argument on [Person X] said [Y]. Not everything Lenin or Kropotkin wrote is automatically correct bc it was written by this or that personality. Arguments should stand by themselves without appealing to a personality/authority
And just generally trying to keep an open mind. Remember: other schools of thought may offer points of view and analyses you haven't considered yet.
*Please also feel encouraged to include context and resources/sources in your posts and comments. Provide those things if you

Social Democracy
Everything regarding social democracy as a political movement.
As described on wikipedia:
"Social democracy is a political, social and economic philosophy within socialism. As a policy regime, it is described by academics as advocating economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal-democratic polity and a capitalist-oriented mixed economy."
Social democracy is often confused with democratic socialism which is it's own thing.
To make this a usefull and a positive environment we ask you:
-
to post related social democracy and politics
-
to be respectful, honest and argue in good faith
While being a open minded group we don’t allow these following transgressions:
- posting NSFW content.
- partaking in harassment, bigotry, hate-speech, Racism or other types of toxic behaviour.
- posting questionable material that push conspiracies or propaganda.

Lemming For Lemming aka R4R on Lemmy
This is a place for adult (18+) Lemmy users (lemmings?) to find others with similar interests. Tell us a little about yourself and what kind of lemming(s) you are hoping to find. We also strive to connect people in real life, so if you are seeking a penpal or something similar, this probably is not the place for you.
Formatting your posts helps everybody find what they are looking for quickly, so it will be enforced. [] # -

Brettspiele, Gesellschaftsspiele, Karten

Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
