Mistborn
Welcome! Welcome to the Mistborn community--for everything about the Mistborn novels, the related fantasy universe, and Brandon Sanderson. Please take a moment to review our rules!
The ModCoord post did not specify a timezone therefore we went with "the first moment it becomes the 12th through the last moment it remains the 19th", and it's already the 12th in some parts of the world.
Rules First and foremost, we ask that everyone show respect to others in this community. Every interaction on the community must be kind, respectful, and welcoming. We also have several rules concerning spoilers, appropriate content, and more.
Please be familiar with our rules, here, before interacting in our community.
Spoiler Policy
- Tag all posts with flair to indicate what spoilers are expected in the post and comments. The following hierarchy is used, where each tag allows spoilers through the end of that book and all preceding books:
No Spoilers Final Empire Well of Ascension Hero of Ages (+ Eleventh Metal) Alloy of Law (+ Allomancer Jak) Shadows of Self Bands of Mourning Secret History Lost Metal (All Mistborn spoilers) Cosmere (All Cosmere spoilers) You may make additional requests within the post, such as asking people to avoid spoilers past a certain point in the tagged book.
-
Do not include any spoilers or plot points in your post titles.
-
Use spoiler markup for any comments that are not within the scope of the thread:
[TFE] >!Kelsier burned tin.!<
produces: [TFE] Kelsier burned tin.
Note that it's important not to include a space after the first "!".
- Report posts and comments which don't adhere to these rules. We need your help to maintain a safe and spoiler-free community!

End FPTP (First Past The Post) — discussion of electoral systems that are not FPTP
Memes are encouraged.
What is First Past The Post (FPTP)?
FPTP is a voting system where each voters submits their vote for one candidate, and the candidate with the most votes wins.
Why is FPTP bad?
- Because FPTP hurts candidates who have similar positions, it leads to a two-party system.
- FPTP creates wasted votes and excess votes.
- FPTP strongly encourages tactical voting.
- FPTP allows for gerrymandering
What are some good alternatives?
- Cardinal Voting Systems
- Ranked Voting Systems
- Schulze Method
- IRV
- Borda Count
- STV (Multi-winner)
- Proportional Representation Systems (For multi-winner elections)
- Mixed Electoral Systems (For multi-winner elections)

Anprim

Lemmy reports more active users than there really are, so “active this month” on Lemmy forums is an upper estimate. More
